Commonwealth
High Court of Australia – Australia’s highest Court established in 1901 under Section 71 of the Constitution. The High Court interprets and applies the laws of Australia and hears matters of special federal significance. View the Court lists.
Federal Court of Australia – For civil matters arising under Australian Federal law and some summary criminal matters. Access to each of the State Registries is available from this site. View the Court lists.
Federal Magistrates Court – While this court mostly deals with Family law matters, it sometimes deals with commercially related matters such as copyright and trade practices. View the Court lists.
Federal Administrative Appeals Tribunal – reviews administrative decisions made by the Australian government and some non-government bodies.
Victoria
Supreme Court of Victoria – Victoria’s highest court. It hears significant matters and appeals from lower courts. View the Court lists.
