Claire practises in commercial law, professional and public liability, and public law.  She has significant experience in acting for insurers and insureds in indemnity disputes and for insurers in conducting defences in liability cases, including class actions.  She has appeared led and unled in the High Court and in trials and appeals in the Supreme Court, Federal Court and County Court.  She also appears in inquests.

Her advisory practice has encompassed a wide range of commercial issues, including insurance, contract disputes, and corporations law, and in the public law sphere has focused on judicial review and statutory construction in various government and regulatory contexts.

Prior to coming to the Bar Claire worked at London firm Tite & Lewis specializing in public law in the commercial context, and as legal advisor and prosecutor at the United Nations International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia.  She earlier completed articles at Arthur Robinson and Hedderwicks and was Associate to Justice Merkel of the Federal Court.

Claire graduated from Monash University with the Supreme Court Exhibition and obtained a Masters of Law from Cambridge as WM Tapp scholar.
