The Members and staff of List A congratulate Justin Graham SC, Alistair Pound SC, Sandro Goubran SC, Daniel McInerney SC and Dr Paul Vout SC on their appointments as Senior Counsel effective today (1 October 2020).

Justin Graham SC practises in commercial law, and has over 20 years’ experience in the conduct and resolution of commercial disputes. He is regularly briefed to appear and advise in significant commercial and corporate law matters, especially in the Supreme Court of Victoria and the Federal Court of Australia (at both trial and appellate levels).  Justin joined List A on signing the Bar Roll in 2003.

Alistair Pound SC  practises in commercial and public law.  He is regularly briefed to advise and appear in trial and appellate proceedings across a broad range of areas, including corporations law, trade practices, class actions, constitutional law and human rights/Victorian Charter matters.  Alistair joined List A on signing the Bar Roll in 2005.

Sandro Goubran SC practises in commercial and public law.  His practice comprises major litigation in the Federal and Supreme Courts involving complex contractual, banking, corporations, financial services, valuation, trade practices and property disputes.  Sandro joined List A on signing the Bar Roll in 2008.

Daniel McInerney SC practises in commercial law. He has extensive technical and advisory knowledge, in relation to structuring and settling taxation disputes with the ATO. Daniel has appeared in leading and complex taxation cases on a broad range of complex issues including transfer pricing, international corporate structuring, consolidations and Part IVA. Daniel’s practice includes advising clients on all Commonwealth and State taxes.  Daniel joined List A on signing the Bar Roll in 2007.

Dr Paul Vout SC practises in all areas of equity and commercial law.  He specialises in statutory construction, contract law and unconscionable conduct, including unconscionable dealings and trusts.  Paul has appeared in the High Court of Australia, the Victorian Court of Appeal and most other Federal and State superior courts.  He has also appeared in the Supreme Court of Singapore.  Paul joined List A on signing the Bar Roll in 2002.

That List A members comprise more than a quarter of this year’s Victorian appointments is a testament to the professional skills and reputations of all our members, and we wish our new silks well as they assume their new roles.
