Julia practises in commercial and public law. She has particular experience in contractual disputes, professional negligence, competition and consumer law, construction and insolvency.
Prior to coming to the Victorian Bar, Julia was an associate to the Honourable Justice Elliott of the Supreme Court of Victoria. She was also a solicitor in the commercial litigation team at King & Wood Mallesons.
Julia holds a Juris Doctor with first class honours from the University of Melbourne. She was awarded the Supreme Court Prize for achieving the highest overall mark, as well as the subject prize for Evidence and Proof, Joan Rosanove QC Memorial Prize, E J B Nunn Scholarship and Arnold Bloch Leibler Melbourne JD Award. She also holds a Bachelor of Business with first class honours from the University of New South Wales.
Previously, Julia served as an Intelligence Officer in the Australian Regular Army, completing two operational deployments to Afghanistan. Julia continues to serve as a member of the Army Reserve and holds an Australian Government Negative Vetting (NV1) security clearance.
