Katherine Brazenor

Katherine has a broad commercial practice.  She has advised on and appeared in a range of matters including corporations law, insolvency, bankruptcy, banking and finance, taxation, health, regulatory, contract, trade practices, defamation, professional negligence, domestic building, civil penalty, administrative (in particular, Freedom of Information Act matters) and competition law.  She appears led and unled in all fora in Victoria.

Before coming to the Bar, Katherine was an Associate at the Federal Court of Australia, first to the Honourable Justice Michelle Gordon in 2011, and then to the Honourable Justice John Middleton in 2012 and 2013.  Prior to this, she was at Arnold Bloch Leibler, where she worked as a solicitor in the litigation department.

In October 2017, she won the Lawyers’ Weekly Women in Law “Barrister of the Year” award.  As of 2017, Katherine is also a member of the tutorial teaching staff at Monash University Law School.  Katherine read with Andrew Hanak.
