Madeleine Salinger

Madeleine practises primarily in public and commercial law. She also accepts briefs in employment and industrial law and major torts.

Prior to coming to the bar Madeleine was an associate to the Hon Justice James Edelman at the High Court of Australia, and the Hon Justice Michael McDonald at the Supreme Court of Victoria. She also worked as the Counsel Assisting the Solicitor-General for Victoria, then Kristen Walker KC.

Madeleine holds a Bachelor of Civil Law (Distinction) from the University of Oxford. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Laws (First Class Honours) from Monash University. Madeleine was awarded the Supreme Court Exhibition Prize for her honours thesis on the implied freedom of political communication.

Madeleine currently lectures in Constitutional Law at Monash University. She has also previously taught Evidence, Administrative Law, TortsĀ and Criminal Law.

Madeleine read with Mark Costello KC and her senior mentor is Alistair Pound S.C.
