Julia practises in commercial and public law. She has particular experience in contractual disputes, misleading and deceptive conduct, professional negligence, competition and consumer law, construction and insolvency.

Before coming to the Bar, Julia was an Associate to the Honourable Justice Elliott of the Supreme Court of Victoria and a solicitor in the commercial litigation team at King & Wood Mallesons.

Julia graduated from the University of Melbourne with the Supreme Court Prize, the EJB Nunn Scholarship, the Joan Rosanove QC Memorial Prize, the Arnold Bloch Leibler Melbourne JD Award and the Howells’ List subject prize for Evidence and Proof. She also holds a Bachelor of Business with first class honours from the University of New South Wales.

Previously, Julia served as an Intelligence Officer in the Australian Regular Army, completing two operational deployments to Afghanistan. She continues to serve as a member of the Army Reserve and holds an Australian Government Negative Vetting (NV1) security clearance.

Julia is reading with Helen Tiplady and her senior mentor is David Batt QC.
