About Julia

Julia practises nationally in commercial and public law. She is regularly briefed in significant disputes involving contractual and commercial claims, corporations law, competition and consumer law, professional negligence, regulatory proceedings, class actions and judicial review applications.

Julia acts for a broad range of private, corporate and government clients. She appears both led and unled in superior courts across Australia and is recognised for her thorough preparation, clear judgment and effective advocacy. She is frequently briefed at an early stage of disputes to provide strategic advice, settle pleadings and evidence, and to appear at trial and on appeal.

Before coming to the bar, Julia was a solicitor in the commercial litigation team at King & Wood Mallesons, where she acted in large-scale commercial disputes. She was also an Associate to the Honourable Justice Elliott at the Supreme Court of Victoria.

Julia graduated with a Juris Doctor (First Class Honours) from the University of Melbourne, where she was awarded the Supreme Court Prize and numerous academic awards. She also holds a Bachelor of Business (First Class Honours) from the University of New South Wales, bringing a strong commercial perspective to her practice.

Prior to her legal career, Julia served as an Intelligence Officer in the Australian Regular Army and completed two operational deployments to Afghanistan, including service with the Special Operations Task Group. She continues to serve in the Army Reserve and holds an NV1 security clearance. She is uniquely positioned to advise and appear in matters involving government decision-making, national security, sensitive or classified information and complex factual investigations.
