Kenneth was appointed to conduct the Royal Commission into Misconduct in the Banking, Superannuation and Financial Services Industry in December 2017.

Kenneth has returned to the Bar following his retirement after 18 years as a Justice of the High Court of Australia.

Prior to his appointment to the High Court he was a judge of the Supreme Court of Victoria from 1992 to 1995, and a foundation judge of the Court of Appeal of Victoria upon its establishment in 1995 to 1997.
