Tim Chalke

Tim practises in general commercial litigation.  He has particular experience in class actions and corporations and securities law.  He also practises in property law, and has specific experience in disputes concerning leasehold interests in alpine resorts in Victoria.  He appears in courts and tribunals at all levels.

Before coming to the Bar, Tim was an Associate in the Class Actions department at Maurice Blackburn where he acted for plaintiffs in securities and cartel actions in the Supreme and Federal Courts.

Previously, he was a lawyer in the Enforcement directorate of the Australian Securities and Investments Commission.  There he was responsible for investigations of insider trading and market manipulation.  He also conducted merits and judicial review proceedings on behalf of the Commission.

He completed his articles and practised at Nevin Lenne & Gross in north east Victoria, where he practised in property, trade practices and general commercial matters.
