List A members and staff congratulate Dr Ben Gauntlett on his appointment as national Disability Discrimination Commissioner. Ben will commence in the role on 7 May 2019 for a term of 5 years in Sydney.
Ben signed the Bar Roll in 2014 and commenced with List A as a Reader. He joined the Western Australian Bar in 2015.
Prior to coming to the Bar, Ben worked at Freehills for four years in Dispute Resolution, as an Associate to The Honourable Justice Kenneth Hayne AC at the High Court of Australia (2012-2013) and as Counsel Assisting the Solicitor-General of the Commonwealth (2013-2014). Ben is also an Honorary Fellow of UWA Law School.
