Shawn practises primarily in public and commercial law.

Before coming to the Bar, Shawn was the Counsel Assisting the Solicitor-General for Victoria. He has also worked as Associate to the Hon Justice Keane AC of the High Court of Australia and to the Hon Justice McLeish of the Victorian Court of Appeal, and in the litigation team at MinterEllison.

Shawn holds a Juris Doctor from Melbourne Law School and a Master of Laws from Harvard Law School.

Since coming to the Bar, Shawn has been briefed in the following matters:
• Azisovski v Swordtail Pty Ltd [2021] VSC 605 — appeal from VCAT — unled, for the defendant
• Gardiner v Attorney-General (Vic) (Supreme Court of Victoria, resolved) — administrative law; Charter — led by Peter Willis SC and Elizabeth Bennett, for the first defendant
• WOTCH Inc v VicForests (Supreme Court of Victoria, ongoing) — environmental law — led by Richard Knowles QC, Kathleen Foley, Julia Watson and Colette Mintz, for the plaintiff
• North East Forest Alliance Inc v Commonwealth (Federal Court of Australia, ongoing) — environmental law — led by Anna Mitchelmore SC and Frances Gordon, for the first defendant

Shawn is also frequently engaged to advise, led and unled, across a range of areas of law.
